Firma Epson wprowadziła do sprzedaży nowy skaner płaski przeznaczony do użytku biurowego i domowego. Skanery tej firmy od kilku lat cieszą się dobra opinią wśród miłośników fotografii. Postanowiliśmy przekonać się czy nowy produkt podobnie jak poprzednie modele zasługuje na zainteresowanie naszych Czytelników. Nowy skaner posiada kanciaste kształty. Obudowa wykonana została z czarnego tworzywa. Na górnej powierzchni umieszczono klawisze funkcyjne szybkiego dostępu, które posiadają srebrne wykończenie. To, co zwraca szczególna uwagę przy pierwszym kontakcie, to sposób otwierania pokrywy. Podobnie jak w modelach V10, V30 i V350 zawiasy umieszczone zostały na dłuższym boku obudowy, dzięki czemu pokrywa skanera odchylana jest na bok. Obrót pokrywy o kąt aż 180° bardzo ułatwia skanowanie książek i czasopism – teraz część pozostająca poza skanerem nie zwisa bezwładnie z boku utrudniając pracę. Gniazda zasilania zewnętrznego oraz port USB 2.0 zostały ulokowane również z boku, po stronie zawiasów pokrywy, w sąsiedztwie przycisków funkcyjnych umożliwiających dostęp do głównych funkcji: start, skanowanie do poczty e-mail, kopiowanie oraz skanowanie do pliku PDF. Skaner jest wyposażony w technologię ReadyScan LED, dzięki czemu urządzenie jest energooszczędne i praktycznie nie wymaga nagrzewania. Zastosowano również nowy 12 liniowy czujnik CCD Epson Color Matrix zapewniający skanowanie z maksymalną gęstością optyczną Dmax = 3,2 i rozdzielczością 4800 x 9600 ppi.
OPROGRAMOWANIE
Firmowy program Epson Scan oferuje użytkownikowi cztery tryby pracy: automatyczny, domowy, biurowy i profesjonalny. Osoby zajmujące się fotografią w zasadzie nie będą wykorzystywały trzech pierwszych trybów pracy. Użytkownik nie ma tu bowiem większego wpływu na kształtowanie wyglądu skanowanego obrazu i nie może wprowadzać korekt. Jego zadaniem jest jedynie określenie takich parametrów, jak rodzaj skanowanego dokumentu (zdjęcie, negatyw, diapozytyw, czasopismo, gazeta, tekst i grafika), format pliku w jakim zostanie zapisany obraz (JPEG, BMP, TIFF, multiTIFF, Print Image Matching II JPEG, Print Image Matching II TIFF i PDF) oraz jego lokalizację, rozdzielczość skanowania, a także usuwanie mory w przypadku skanowania dokumentów rastrowych (drukowanych). Może wpływać jedynie na jasność i kontrast obrazu. Program Easy Photo Fix umożliwia przywracanie kolorów, korygowanie podświetlenia oraz usuwanie pyłów i zanieczyszczeń. Znacznie bardziej rozbudowane możliwości korekty skanowanych obrazów oferuje profesjonalny tryb skanowania. Oprócz funkcji wymienionych wyżej użytkownik ma do dyspozycji zaawansowaną korekcję histogramu, korekcję tonalną przy użyciu krzywych, korekcję jasności kontrastu i nasycenia obrazu oraz funkcję balansu kolorów. Ponadto może wyostrzyć obraz przy użyciu trójstopniowego filtra maski wyostrzającej, usunąć ziarno, przywrócić wyblakłe barwy, selektywnie zmienić barwy przy użyciu palety kolorów, jak również usunąć morę podczas skanowania dokumentów rastrowych. Poza rozdzielczością optyczną i skalowaniem można również określić głębię bitową skanowanych barw (24 lub 48 bitów). Wprowadzanie korekcji ułatwia duży czytelny podgląd. Skaner posiada możliwość skanowania wsadowego. Dzięki podglądowi w trybie miniatur użytkownik może określić, które z wyświetlonych zdjęć mają zostać zeskanowane.
